Pizza Hut, Oman

So this ad made me visit Pizza Hut recently.

The very popular pizza parlour which also happens to be my favourite, introduced a new pizza recently – The Cheesy Garlic Twist and I decided to try it out. We visited the MBD Branch, besides this there are 6 other Pizza Hut outlets in Muscat.

The restaurant decorated in its usual theme of red, sunset yellows and brown greeted us on a Wednesday evening. It wasn’t very crowded and we were seated pretty fast.

Pizza Hut offers pizzas, a very good selection of starters, pastas, flatbreads, spinrolls,  mocktails and delicious looking desserts. They have an impressive glossy menu with insanely flattering pictures of food that makes you feel like ordering everything.

Pizza Hut serve four different types of pizzas with various toppings – stuffed crust with cheese, pan pizza (regular medium sized crust), thin ‘n’ crispy and mia. They also occasionally introduce special pizza promotions like stuffed crust with sausage, 6-cheese pizza, Cheesy Jalapeno stuffed crust, Hot Dog Crown Crust etc. These are usually for a limited period of time.

For starters, we requested for Bruschettas but our waiter said that wasn’t available so we settled for two portions of Garlic Bread Supreme and a small Salad.

I love make-your-own salad bars. Pizza hut gives you a small/large plate and you get to take how much ever salad you want or you can manage to fill in your plate from a single visit to the salad bar. I usually take the small salad plate and build a giant heap of the delicious greens and creams.

Small Salad OMR 1.800

That’s my very own creative construction of the salad hill. You can’t see much in the image but it’s got lettuce, creamy potato salad, steamed beetroot, diced feta cheese, green olives, shredded carrot, sliced cucumber, mixed cream salad of beans, carrot and corn, fusilli pasta salad topped with coleslaw and a cherry tomato and a bit of French salad dressing.

That’s pretty much everything from the salad bar except for pickles and boiled corn. The coleslaw and potato salad are to die for!

The Garlic Bread was baked beautifully and the mozzarella topping was perfect. There were four pieces per portion.

Exotica Pizza (Medium) OMR 4.300

Chosen by Mum, the Exotica pizza is vegetarian and also one of their spiciest pizzas. The toppings include jalapenos, baby corn, green bell peppers, red bell peppers and black olives. The secret pizza sauce is just delicious, maybe that’s why I love their pizzas.

Cheesy Garlic Twist Pizza (Large) OMR 5.950

The Cheesy Garlic Twist ads are on billboards all over town and I definitely wanted to try it out. It was really yummy but there was nothing new about the taste. It had the usual cheese taste that most of their pizzas have. This new twist wasn’t very appealing.

It didn’t take us long to get full. This always happens at Pizza hut, the portions are very satisfying.

We packed the remaining leftover pizzas for my breakfast tomorrow, haha. (I don’t know if it’s just me but leftover pizzas from Pizza Hut taste really really good the next day!)

Overall Pizza Hut is an outstanding restaurant, with very good service and excellent food.

Total billing for two starters, two pizzas (large & medium), one small salad and a large bottled water (including taxes): OMR 14.075
