During my recent trip to Mumbai I visited Hoppipola, a well known pub & restaurant having branches in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. The restaurant serves drinks and multi cuisine dishes mainly consisting of Continental, American and Mediterranean food. We visited Hoppipola on a weekday and the place was packed but a pre-reserved table helped!
Semi-circular in its layout plus rustic and homely in its décor, Hoppipola is perfectly situated in the heart of Mumbai for impromptu drinking and dining plans. The rules are different, the rules are fun – you could draw on the table, drink, read some books, eat, play some board games/video games or your own drinking games, be a part of beer chuggathon, sing or dance till you drop. You could even go here alone and not get bored!
The restaurant has a vibrant and lively ambience which gets louder as the evening passes by. Hoppipola has a massive semi-circular stained glass on one side of the restaurant, the bar on the other side and the DJ console at an elevated level. There is an indoor as well an outdoor seating; ample amount of space to occupy good number of people. When we were done gaping at the place, we finally had a look at the menu which has an impressively wide selection of food, beers, wines and spirits accompanied with quirky names and descriptions.
For starters, we ordered The Wing Man’s Chicken and OMG.
The Wing Man’s Chicken were succulent wings covered with in-house buffalo sauce. They were sticky, juicy and extremely delicious. The portion is good enough for 2 people.
From their vast collection of wine, we selected a bottle of Sula red wine. I just love this wine; it is smooth and pairs with the food splendidly.
OMG were cheese stuffed button mushrooms deep fried to perfection and oozing hoppi cheese in every bite!
Hoppipola are very active on their social media pages and you can keep yourself updated with all their upcoming mini-events and special offers. They have a very attractive website too! (http://www.hoppipola.com/)
For main course, we tried Lamburgini and All 4 One pasta. All 4 One pasta included white sauce made out of 4 different cheeses and the combination of this sauce, penne and shrimps created a beautiful result. However its taste was less successful and a little too bland.
Lamburgini as you may have guessed is a lamb burger which was stuffed with a tasty lamb patty, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and a generous amount of an in-house secret sauce. The burger was accompanied with potato fries and tomato ketchup. The dish tasted flawless. No regrets here.
The beer tower is a great option for beer lovers. I don’t drink beer but my friends told me that Kingfisher was really good! Haha.
You cannot leave this place without trying their crazy shots. Brain Damage was a super smooth shot and extremely impressive in taste and presentation. I’m guessing this is when the singing and dancing starts lol
Which reminds me that I completely forgot to click pictures of the venue that evening so I’m really thankful to Hoppipola staff for providing me with the images.
The service was good and the prices reasonably affordable. Hoppipola has great food and tons of activities to keep you engaged. Hoppi and perfect for any occasion!
