Formerly known as Love at First Bite, this restaurant is definitely one of my favourites. It is lovely, it exudes a feeling of luxurious comfort and has some brilliant food.

I went there for date night because it is perfect for one of those haha. Not noisy. No babies crying. Just some subtle music to create a calm and relax atmosphere. There were a lot of clothes and cushions scattered everywhere as part of the décor. I thought that was a little offbeat but I guess that’s how they want it to be. Unique, messy but posh. Arab posh.

Yes, this is upside down on the ceiling

The menu is really attractive; all the items have cheesy names like “Leave me alone”, “Promise”, “Heartless”. Hahahaha.

The Menu

Our first interesting dish of the evening was called “Together” – a starter with honey glazed beef strips piled nicely on a plate. They tasted nice and crispy.

My main dish was “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” – perfectly grilled lamb chops on a bed of mash and pepper + mushroom sauce served with pear shaped fried spuds and sauteed veggies. You can see how pretty it is. Unfortunately, this beautiful dish isn’t available in the menu anymore but I’m so glad I got to try it though. *evil laugh*

Daley selected “Lies” and it was so so goooood! It’s a sandwich made up of steak, sauteed onions and cheese and served with some amazing mash. Yum yum yum. We were loving every bite of this dinner.

I even chose a mocktail called “Mine”. It was a virgin pineapple margarita with a hint of ginger and lime. It tasted okay. Daley took a can of Dew.

My favourite part of the meal was definitely the dessert – The Velvet Waterfall. A well constructed, luscious red velvet tower filled with cream cheese and vanilla and some molten hot milk chocolate poured all over it. The dessert showed off good technique and every inch of it was sweet and marvellous.

Btw you guys should go check out their Instagram account because I’ve never seen a more gorgeous page! (Link: https://www.instagram.com/houseofbite/). If my blog post doesn’t make you want to go there, their Instagram page will definitely convince you. As you can see, I’ve used some of their images here. Because they are so gorg! Better than mine anyway. House of Bite also holds some amazing events every now and then, and you will find all of Oman’s hep crowd here.
