Brunch at Albert’s Schloss

Albert’s Schloss ranks as one of the hottest venues to visit in Manchester. The restaurant name refers to Queen Victoria’s famous husband, Albert and Schloss means ‘palace’ or ‘stately home’ in German.

The venue boasts of Bavarian and bohemian décor – alpine wood furniture, a fireplace and of course Bavarian beers. It felt like a massive tavern and can probs cover about 400 people. A mix of chic and traditional seating is spread around the restaurant appealing to wild beer nights as well as formal dining meals. The most beautiful thing about this place is its blindingly well-lit bar that sits at the centre of this huge room. I’ll let the images speak for themselves.

Sneha and I visited Albert’s Schloss for brunch. It was quiet during the day but I can tell for sure the evenings here are boisterous and lively. The menu has a variety of breakfast specials. We went for a royal breakfast and steak with eggs. I’m definitely a ‘steak at any time of the day’ kind of person :D Sneha’s royal breakfast was massive and incredibly gorgeous. The plate had sunny-side eggs, kaiserwurst sausage, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomato, potato rosti, bacon and sourdough toast. Everything on the plate tasted beautiful especially the sausage. The rosti was slightly over crunchy but tasty nonetheless.

My steak and eggs were a total winner. Both, the presentation and the taste were on point and I felt like I was in a German heaven hahah. It was poached eggs and sliced up flat iron steak served on a large potato rosti and topped with some brilliant hollandaise. An accurate portion and the rosti for my main was cooked perfect.

We also had an English breakfast tea and cappuccino to accompany our delicious breakfast.

Lastly we were served some treats, a morning bun and a cronut to finish our brunch episode.

It was a lovely experience. The staff were amiable and very helpful. The food and the ambience were definitely impressive and I’m positive I’ll be coming back here to experience more of what Albert’s Schloss has to offer.
